Privacy Policy
Overview
CDL Coach (“we”, “the app”) helps you prepare for commercial driver’s license knowledge and skills tests. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how it is used.
Information on your device
Study progress may be stored on your device, including lesson completion, quiz scores, bookmarks, streaks, and study settings. This data stays on your device unless you choose features that sync it to our servers.
Accounts
When you create an account with email and password, we store your account credentials securely with our authentication provider and keep a profile on our servers (such as your display name and exam preferences). Signing out ends your session on this device. You can permanently delete your account and associated profile data from Settings → Delete account. For security, we may keep a limited audit record of account deletions (for example that an account was deleted, when, and the email on file at that time).
Information we do not collect
We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, or microphone audio. If we add features that need additional permissions (such as notifications), we will update this policy and ask only for what is required.
Purchases
If you buy a subscription or in-app purchase through the App Store or Google Play, payment is processed by Apple or Google under their privacy policies. We receive only the purchase status needed to unlock features you paid for—not your full payment card details.
Third-party services
We use trusted providers for account authentication, app distribution, and optional diagnostics. Platform services from Apple or Google may process limited technical data according to your device settings. Study content is adapted from publicly available CDL driver manual materials for educational use.
Children
CDL Coach is intended for adults preparing for commercial driving credentials. It is not directed at children under 13.
Your choices
You can reset local study progress from Settings → Reset all progress. You can delete your account from Settings → Delete account. Uninstalling the app removes on-device study data stored by CDL Coach.
